NRS-UK Welcomes Its First Work Experience Student to Ashby Head Office

18/05/26

We recently welcomed our first-ever work experience student, Chloe, to our Ashby-de-la-Zouch, Head Office — marking an important step in the company’s ongoing commitment to supporting the local community and investing in future talent.

During her placement, Chloe had the opportunity to experience life in a busy workplace environment, working closely with the Bid team and contributing to social media content. She also spent time meeting colleagues from across the wider business, gaining valuable insight into a variety of roles and departments.

The placement was designed to offer hands-on experience, helping Chloe develop practical skills while building confidence in a professional setting. By attending meetings, contributing ideas, and working collaboratively with the team, she was able to gain a well-rounded understanding of day-to-day business operations.

Olly Jaycocks, Bid Manager at NRS-UK, highlighted the positive impact of the placement:

Last week, we had the pleasure of welcoming Chloe to NRS-UK for her work experience placement. Supporting our social media content and working closely with the BID team, Chloe has gained valuable experience, developed new skills, and become a great addition to the team — all while sampling all of the coffee options possible.

For Chloe, the experience provided invaluable exposure to the workplace and helped her develop skills she will carry forward into her future education and career. Reflecting on her time at NRS-UK, she said:

I really enjoyed my work experience at NRS-UK. Everyone was so welcoming, and I learned a lot through attending meetings and creating content for the team. It gave me a great insight into the workplace, and I’ll definitely take these skills and experiences with me into the future.

At the heart of this initiative is NRS-UK’s commitment to supporting the communities in which it operates. By offering work experience placements, the organisation aims to create meaningful opportunities for young people — particularly those who may not otherwise have access to professional environments — allowing them to explore career pathways, build confidence, and develop essential workplace skills.

Work experience programmes such as this not only benefit students but also bring fresh perspectives into the business. They support stronger community connections and help organisations play an active role in developing the next generation of talent.

Following the success of Chloe’s placement, NRS-UK hopes to expand its work experience offering in the future, continuing to open its doors to young people from the local area.
