The NRS Mowbray Adjustable Width Toilet Frame is a freestanding toilet aid designed to support independence in the bathroom. Its combination of width and height adjustability makes it a versatile choice for disabled people, older adults, and those recovering from surgery or injury, as well as for healthcare professionals sourcing equipment for varied client needs.
The frame adjusts in width from 570 mm to 720 mm overall, allowing it to be tailored to both the user and the toilet. This flexibility means a single product can be used across different bathroom environments without the need for multiple sizes. Height adjustment is available on both the front and back legs, enabling the frame to be configured for toilets of different heights and to suit the individual user’s comfort and accessibility requirements.
Constructed from epoxy coated steel in a clean white finish, the frame is built to withstand regular daily use while remaining easy to wipe down. The one-piece moulded plastic seat is removable and can be autoclaved on cycles up to 70°C, supporting thorough infection control in both domestic and clinical settings. Non-slip ferrules are fitted to all four legs to help keep the frame stable on the floor during use.
The frame has a maximum user weight of 190 kg (30 st), making it suitable for a broad range of users. It carries CE certification and comes with a 24-month warranty.
For safe use, the height difference between the front and back legs should not exceed two adjustment holes. Front legs must always be set at the same height as each other, and back legs at the same height as each other, to prevent rocking. When adjusting the width, equivalent holes must be used on both sides to keep the frame square and stable. Users should not stand or climb on the frame.
Maintenance is straightforward: the frame can be cleaned using a non-abrasive cream cleaner or a detergent solution. Ferrules should be checked monthly for signs of wear, and E clips should be inspected every two months to ensure the frame remains secure and safe to use.
