The NRS Sanctuary Commode offers a thoughtful solution for people who need a commode at home but wish to maintain a comfortable, homely environment. Styled to closely resemble a premium lounge chair, it blends naturally into a living room, bedroom, or hallway without drawing attention to its purpose – helping to preserve dignity and independence for the user.
Transforming the chair into a commode takes only moments. Simply lift the vanity cushion and raise the commode pan lid to reveal a fully functional commode seat. When not in use, the lower wooden frame conceals the 3.5-litre commode pan neatly within the base of the chair, maintaining the appearance of an ordinary armchair.
Built to last, the Sanctuary Commode features a solid wood lower frame and legs paired with a steel upper frame, providing a sturdy and stable structure suitable for users weighing up to 136 kg (22 st). The fire-retardant upholstery meets safety requirements while remaining comfortable for extended periods of use. The fixed seat height of 45 cm, integral armrests, and freestanding design combine to make sitting down and standing up as comfortable and secure as possible.
Maintaining good hygiene is straightforward. The removable commode pan can be taken out for emptying and cleaning with ease, and the upholstered surfaces can be wiped down as needed.
Assembly is simple and requires no specialist knowledge. The Sanctuary Commode is supplied with the legs and commode pan detached. The legs attach securely to the frame using the nuts, washers, and tool included in the box, and the commode pan slots into position. Full instructions are provide and a 24 month warranty is supplied.
Please note: the Sanctuary Commode is designed for use in dry areas only and must not be used in showers or wet-rooms.
